MedStar Health offers a number of resources and support for your general wellbeing and to meet the mental health needs of our GME community, including informal support and advice, convenient and free coaching services, and easy access to mental health treatment.
Through town halls, regular communications, and many other venues you will get regular reminders and updates about wellbeing throughout the year.
The MedStar Center for Wellbeing is excited to announce that the GME Wellness Champions Program is back and now open to all members of the GME community.
This opportunity is open to those passionate about improving their own and their colleagues’ wellbeing. As a working group of the GMEC, the Wellness Champions Program is supported by MedStar Health GME system leadership and plays a vital role in advancing wellbeing discussions and policies across the system.
Wellness Champions help strengthen their programs by identifying factors that support or hinder professional fulfillment, serving as a communication link between programs, leadership, and the system wellbeing team, and working with department leaders to implement local wellness initiatives. Champions also support adherence to ACGME requirements related to wellbeing and fatigue.
In addition, selected champions may apply for the Wellness Champion Incentive Grant Program, which provides funding to support a year-long wellness project of your choosing within your program.
