Wellbeing Highlight

Through town halls, regular communications, and many other venues you will get regular reminders and updates about wellbeing throughout the year.

Wellbeing Highlight: September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

This September, let’s take a moment to remember that talking about suicide can save lives. Medical professionals face unique stressors, and stigma around seeking help is real, but together we can change the culture of medicine by making mental health support part of everyday conversation.

Here are a few ways to take action this month:

  • Know the number: Call or text 988 for 24/7 crisis support.

  • Join the conversation: Free webinar on suicide prevention – Wednesday, September 17, 12-1 p.m. Register here!

  • Explore resources: MedStar Wellbeing Programs for you and your family.

Wellbeing Highlight: May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Every May, we observe Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to reflect on the challenges that caregivers and healthcare providers face and the resources available to support you. The demands of our work can be physically and emotionally challenging, and it’s ok to ask for help when you need it .

This May, as part of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re excited to reintroduce a valuable resource for all MedStar Health associates. The Mental Health Online Screening Tool (MOST) is now available.

MOST is an anonymous, interactive program that provides personalized guidance and resources from our mental health experts without revealing your identity. It’s designed to help you address mental health needs, build resilience, and prepare for life changes.

Available to all associates, including physicians, residents, and fellows, MOST highlights our commitment to supporting healthcare workers who may be hesitant to seek help.
