As physicians, it’s critical you care for your own mental and physical health to ensure you’re fully prepared to care for others. MedStar Health has launched MedStar Connects You to allow you to anonymously and easily access personalized mental health resources from the Center for Wellbeing.
Please visit the MedStar Connects You website to answer screening questions addressing mental health concerns. The Center for Wellbeing team will review your answers and provide you with a personalized response, usually within one business day for urgent requests. Importantly, this is a 100% anonymous resource and the questionnaire and available responses from the Center for Wellbeing can be accessed 24/7. You do not even need to provide an e-mail address and can communicate entirely through the website, if you choose.
How do I access MedStar Connects You?
Please visit MedStar.connectsyou.org to access this tool.
Do I need to provide an e-mail, phone number, or any other identifying information?
No, not if you don’t want to. You have the option to create a unique username and password, with no requirement to share any identifying information. You will need to select and provide an answer for a security question. Once you have created your unique log-in information, you can return to the website at your convenience to review messages from the Center for Wellbeing team. You also have the option to provide an e-mail address if you would like to receive notifications that you have a response waiting for you on the website.
How many screening questions are there? Do I need to answer all of them?
There are 35 screening questions, covering a range of mental and physical health wellness indicators. There is also an open response question box, where you can add any other details not covered by the screening questions that may be helpful in responding to your unique needs. You do not need to answer every screening question. In fact, answering just one question will ensure you are connected with Center for Wellbeing staff who will connect you with appropriate resources.
Where does the screening questionnaire go?
Your answers to the screening questionnaire are stored securely on the MedStar Connects You website. The Center for Wellbeing team will review your answers on a secure portal and provide a personalized response, giving you valuable information on mental health resources.
How long will it take to receive a response?
The Center for Wellbeing team aims to provide a personalized response to urgent requests within one business day. To prioritize those most in need of help, less urgent or non-urgent requests may receive responses within three to four business days.
I need help now. Who can I call?
