MedStar Health GME Consortium is CELEBRATING 10-YEAR ACGME INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION

This week, we received our official letter from the ACGME confirming our sponsoring institution, MedStar Health (GME Consortium) has received a full, 10-year institutional accreditation!  The ACGME Institutional Review Committee review and accredits sponsoring institutions of GME, just like each Residency Review Committee reviews and accredits respective residency and fellowship programs.  Since the GME Consortium was newly accredited in 2017, this review action also moves us from “Initial Accreditation” status to “Continued Accreditation” status.  The GME Consortium will undergo both self-study requirements and CLER visits in the interim 10-year cycle.

This accreditation action confirms that MedStar Health as a sponsoring institution, as well as each of our individual residency and fellowship programs, are in substantial compliance with the Institutional, Common and Program Requirements.

A special thank you and recognition to our GME team under the leadership of Jennifer Remington, MHSA, AVP for GME, and Jonathan Davis, MD, co-chair of GMEC, as well as our ADIOs, GME Committee, and all of our program directors, residents, and fellows.  All of you make our academic community excellent!
